Dartmoor has shined at this year’s Devon Tourism Awards nominations.
The award finalists have recently been announced and eleven of the 27 nominations are Dartmoor businesses, sweeping the board with the rest of Devon in the six categories.
The Awards ceremony, which is taking place at Sandy Park in Exeter on 23rd November, will be brimming with Dartmoor finalists, proving that Dartmoor is leading the way in Devon for visitor experience, local produce, service, and places to stay. Keith Green, Chairman for the Dartmoor Partnership, the official tourism organization for Dartmoor, comments, ‘This is a fantastic advert for Dartmoor, it just goes to show what a great and dynamic tourism industry we have here. It is wonderful to see so many of Dartmoor Partnership members achieving such high accolades, and is truly representational of all the other fantastic tourism businesses that operate right here in this unique and beautiful landscape’.
One Dartmoor business will certainly be walking away with a top honour, as ‘Hotel of the Year’ category is completely made up of hotels on Dartmoor. Those hotels are Bovey Castle, Gidleigh Park and Ilsington Country House.
Keith continued, ‘I know how hard all these businesses work to ensure a memorable visit for all, and I am just really proud that we have such a high standard of business representing and championing Dartmoor. We are looking forward to hearing the eventual winners, but it is a sterling effort by all to get this far, in what has been a really tough competition’.
