Lifton Hall is a small and friendly hotel where the old fashioned values of service and comfort can still be enjoyed. Ideally located on the Devon and Cornwall border, half a mile off the A30, we are easily accessible and offer a perfect base to explore the sights and attractions of the West Country.

The hotel has nine bedrooms; each is individually decorated and tastefully furnished and has its own character. All have en suite bath or shower room and have colour television, hot drink making facilities, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, and individually controlled central heating. Complimentary bottled water is provided. Most rooms have access to free Wi-Fi. All our bedrooms are a good size and two are suitable for a family of three or four. One of our twin rooms is on the ground floor making it ideal for those who find stairs difficult.

There is a comfortable lounge, which is tastefully decorated and furnished, and a warm cosy bar where a log fire burns in winter. The restaurant is elegant but welcoming, and the perfect atmosphere for a leisurely dinner enjoyed at your own pace. All our meals are freshly cooked to order using mainly local produce.

Lifton is the perfect base for exploring the West Country. There is so much to see and do in Devon and Cornwall whatever your interests and most of it is within east reach of Lifton Hall. We are right on the border of Devon and Cornwall and between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Both moors are easily accessible and offer wonderful opportunities for walking, hiking, horse riding, biking or just exploring by car. The North and South coasts are within easy reach and even in summer it is easy to find somewhere quiet and isolated to enjoy the splendid views.

We are also ideally placed for visiting many of the West Country's finest stately homes and gardens as well as the world famous Eden Project.

Exeter is less than an hour away with its beautiful cathedral, Roman wall and shopping centre. Many small country towns and villages are worth exploring in themselves: Tavistock, with its old fashioned shops and Pannier Market, Widecombe the historical capital of Dartmoor, Launceston the original county town of Cornwall, Okehampton and Lostwithiel, to name a few. Further a field you can comfortably make a day trip to Truro, St Ives or east to Torquay, Dartmouth or Salcombe.
