DARTMOOR BY TRAIN
Devon is well connected to main line services, especially to Exeter and Plymouth. Trains also stop at Newton Abott, Totnes and Ivybridge
on the southern edge of Dartmoor. Train companies operating in the area include First Great Western, Cross Country Trains and South West Trains.

Summer visitors can travel to Okehampton Railway Station via Exeter, for an up to date timetable visit The Dartmoor Railway.
DARTMOOR BY COACH
National Express run direct coach services to Okehampton from most major towns and cities throughout Britain. For details visit www.nationalexpress.com or telephone 08705 80 80 80. When you are here, there are regular local services connecting many local towns and villages.
DARTMOOR BY CAR
Good motorway links ensure that Dartmoor is within easy reach of the rest of Britain. It is serviced by both the the A30 and A38 dual carriageways which offer rapid journey times from the M5 motorway straight to the fringes of Dartmoor National Park. Alternatively, if travelling from the South and East of England the M3/M25 followed by the A303/A30 offers a more scenic route.

DARTMOOR SUNDAY ROVER
Leave your car for one day at least! Explore the Dartmoor area by public transport. Travel on a Sunday and you can buy a Sunday Rover ticket giving you unlimited travel on that day on most Dartmoor bus and rail routes for just £6. Children travel for £4 and a family of up to five people costs just £16. Visit the Devonbus site, then go to services for more details.
THE DARTMOOR RAILWAY
Please note the Dartmoor Railway is currently closed to the public.
The Dartmoor Railway runs along the old Southern Railway route between Crediton and Meldon Quarry through Okehampton.

GREAT SCENIC RAILWAYS
Day trips on the scenic Tamar Valley or Tarka branch lines are just two examples of railway routes that link to the Dartmoor Sunday Rover network, where you can enjoy a car free day out. You could combine your trip with a walk or visit a local pub. Visit Great Scenic Railways for more information.
