Church Cottage
A classic stone Dartmoor semi detached cottage dating from the 16th century and sleeping up to six people, Church Cottage overlooks the green and from the rear over the churchyard and cricket field to the open moor . A stone path leads to the thatched porch and front door opening to the comfortable interior with lovely traditional features including window seats in every room and a stone mullioned window dating from the early 16th century. Downstairs are two good sized sociable rooms each approx 19’ x 16’, the sitting room with a woodburner, flatscreen freeview television, dvd, video, WiFi and books, games and videos for cosy nights in. The well equipped kitchen/dining room has a traditional slate floor with Rayburn range and walk in larder and there is also a wc/shower room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, a 5’ double and two 3’ twins as well as a further wc/shower room and bathroom suite. Full central heating. Cot and highchair available. Dogs welcome by arrangement. Non smoking. Small, private garden and summerhouse with garden furniture and outside games. Parking. Dogs welcome by arrangement.
Manaton is a small moorland village easily accessible 6 miles from Bovey Tracey on the east of Dartmoor in one of the most populat areas for walking. There are many fine walks straight from the door; over to the rock outcrops on the high moor at Bowrman's Nose, Hound Tor or down the tree lined combe to the clear water of the River Bovey making a pleasant change especially on a hot summers day. Village tennis court and playyground. Good local pubs.
