Road Directions

Hoo Meavy Barton is approximately 7 miles from the A38 at Plymouth and approximately 7 miles from Tavistock. We are in a rural location a few minutes from Yelverton, Clearbrook & Meavy. We are situated behind Hoo Meavy Farmhouse and the directions below will help you find us. We want you to arrive safely so remember there is never any rush and please drive safely! Please do not hesitate to call us if you are unsure!

From A38 Plymouth:

Take A386 and follow directions to Tavistock. Staying on the A386 you will pass through several sets of traffic lights with a big B&Q on your left. Continue over next roundabout heading towards Tavistock. Next you will pass through more sets of lights with a Toby Carvery on your left and a Mercedes garage on the right. At next roundabout take the first exit (filter lane) staying on A386 to Tavistock. At next roundabout take the second exit staying on A386 to Tavistock. The road will go uphill and entering Roborough Down you will pass the Dartmoor Diner on your left. If it’s not foggy!!! You will now see panoramic views of Dartmoor to your right. After passing the Dartmoor Diner take the second turning on the right signposted Clearbrook. You are now on the moor so please drive carefully and look out for animals on the road. After a short while you will cross over a small bridge on a bend in the road and you will see Clearbrook village ahead. Continue through Clearbrook village where the road will go down hill and under an old railway arch. Continue on crossing a small bridge over the river Meavy. After the bridge you will approach Hoo Meavy tin miner’s cottages with a small green and post box. Turn left here and follow the road uphill and passing the old chapel on your left. Continue on this road for a short while and you will see a cottage (Owls Hoot) come into view on your left. Turn right immediately opposite Owls Hoot onto the farm track at Hoo Meavy Farm. Hoo Meavy Barton is immediately behind the farmhouse.

From Tavistock:

Take A386 towards Plymouth. At Yelverton roundabout take third exit towards Plymouth then immediately turn left and follow the road signs for Cadover Bridge. This stretch of road has speed bumps for approximately one quarter of a mile. Stay on this road and after an S bend it will go down hill and cross over the River Meavy before climbing back up hill. At the top of the hill you will come to a small cross roads where you should take the right hand turn to Hoo Meavy. You will now be on a narrow road going through the trees. After approximately 1 quarter of a mile you will see Hoo Meavy Farm come into view on your left. Turn left onto the farm track and you will find Hoo Meavy Barton behind the farmhouse.
