John & Diane Ware extend a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors to Hunters Moon a 17th Century cottage on the edge of Bridestowe village. Originally two workers cottages built of local stone and cob Hunters Moon has been sympathetically extended to provide modern day comforts but still retaining the charm of days gone by with oak beams and inglenook fireplaces with their original bread ovens.
We offer Bed and Breakfast accommodation with home cooked food using local produce where possible and our own fresh eggs and homemade preserves. Three course Evening Meal (set menu) is available as an optional extra and should be arranged at least 24 hours in advance if possible. We are a Non Smoking establishment.
Lydford is a Double Room with En-suite shower, wc and washbasin. Clovelly is a Double Room with room for a small single bed and/or travel cot. Tamar is a Twin Room. There is a private Guest Bathroom with bath, shower, wc and washbasin. All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, colour television, clock radio alarm, toiletries, hairdryers, towels and bathrobes, and have individually controlled central heating.
Hunters Moon is an ideal base for touring Devon and Cornwall being centrally located and within easy reach of the A30, or escape from the 'rat-race', relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our lovely countryside. Approximately 20 miles Northwards is the rugged Cornish and North Devon Atlantic coastline with its's stark cliffs and beautiful sandy beaches. Within 1 hour's drive or less are the Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Garden House, RHS Rosemore, Paignton Zoo, Plymouth Aquarium, Morwellham Quay and many National Trust properties and gardens including Cotehele, Saltram, Lydford Gorge, Lanhydrock and Castle Drogo.
Bridestowe is a small rural village nestled in the West Devon countryside on the very edge of Dartmoor National Park.
Being centrally located all parts of Devon and parts of Cornwall are easily accessable. Bridestowe offers the walker and cyclist wonderful surroundings being situated on both the Two Castles Trail and the National Cycle Network the Granite Way and has a 17th Century Inn, a 15th Century Church and a General Stores with Post Office.
