Swallows Nest entrance

The Swallows Nest is a 17th Century barn conversion completed in 2011.  It was originally a linhay or hay store.  The property is approached over the shared courtyard with the Longhouse.  You enter via a flight of granite steps, making it unsuitable for people with mobility problems.  The entrance door opens onto an open plan sitting/dining and kitchen area.  The kitchen contains a range of modern beech style fronted units with granite style work surface.  There is a double sink with mixer tap and an attractive woven basket stand for storage.  A fridge/freezer, washer/dryer machine and double oven electric hob cooker.  The property is favoured by a large picture window which overlooks the courtyard and fields beyond.  The sitting area contains one three-seater an one two-seater sofa, a large woodburning stove on slate hearth and a TV and DVD player which sit on an old strip-pine seaman's chest.  A door leads to the bathroom which contains a white suite and full length bath with shower attachment.  There is an immersion tank cupboard.  From the main living area a flight of bespoke handcrafted stairs lead to the mezzanine bedroom which has a velux window and porthole window with views over Dartmoor.  There is a king sized bed with bedside table and lamp, a double wardrobe and chest of drawers.  There is a wealth of exposed timber throughout the property.  Outside, across the courtyard, accessed by a gate, is a private garden with bench.  There is a private car park with space for one car.

Sleeps 2 ( a couple).  One dog welcome.
