Sweeton Manor, Splash Cottage, The Smithy and Fernhill Cottage are situated in the idyllic village of Ponsworthy in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. With exposed stonework, oak beams and huge granite fireplaces, the properties retain the charm and character of traditional Dartmoor cottages whilst providing all essential modern comforts and conveniences.
The houses come with extensive kitchen facilities and modern appliances, and barbecues in the warmer months. Bedrooms are equipped with crisp Egyptian cotton sheets and deep down feather bedding, as well as fluffy white towels and dressing gowns, and quality toiletries (non feather bedding is also available).
The properties are ideally placed for walking, cycling, pony trekking and other moorland activities, and include a full concierge service to help you discover and organise a wide range of activities such as farm visits, riding, heritage sites, golf, abseiling and hot air ballooning. For lazy days, there are plenty of books, games and DVDs to keep everyone entertained. Nearby Ashburton has a great selection of shops and cafes. The local area has some very good restaurants and pubs, and Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth are all within easy driving distance. Despite its remote location and unrivalled peace and privacy, Ponsworthy is a mere three hours from London either by car or train. WiFi operates throughout the properties.
Sweeton Manor is set in four acres of private grounds with magnificent views of the moor, epitomising the romance and tranquility of the English countryside. Designed and refurbished to the highest possible standard, combining advantages of a quality boutique hotel with the intimacy and freedom of a private house, Sweeton is the ultimate exclusive rural retreat. Sweeton Manor accommodates 12+ guests in six individually designed en suite bedrooms, and stunning living rooms furnished with a blend of contemporary and antique furniture, making for an original and eclectic interior. First rate facilities are provided including a stunning indoor pool with steam room and spa bath, games room with a full sized snooker table, Sky TV, and library of over 2000 books. Housekeeping at Sweeton is included six days out of seven.
