The Horn of Plenty

A former AA Hotel of the Year, and regarded by many as one of Devon’s Top 5 restaurants, The Horn of Plenty provides outstanding food, accommodation and service in a glorious location.

The hotel is surrounded by a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and boasts stunning views over the Tamar Valley. Located just off the western edge of Dartmoor in a lovely part of Devon, it provides an excellent choice for tourers, walkers and food lovers alike.

Food features high on the agenda here, using the very best seasonal produce, sourced from local growers. The dinner menu might include a starter of sautéed Falmouth bay scallops, confit chicken, artichoke and Madeira butter, followed by a main course of line caught Cornish pollock with saffron mash and a smoked prawn butter. A signature dessert is warm hazelnut cake with stout ice cream.

The hotel’s bedrooms are luxurious and well equipped, with Vi spring beds, fresh flowers, bottled water, towelling robes and quality toiletries. Rooms in the main house are large and traditionally furnished, whilst rooms in the coach house are more contemporary. Most rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens and the stunning Tamar Valley.

Open daily for lunch, dinner and accommodation, The Horn is located 5 minutes drive from Tavistock, 25 minutes from Plymouth.

“One of my favourite places in the whole wide world” The Earl of Bradford.
