Tor Cottage

Situated in its own 28-acre hidden valley, Tor Cottage is a small and special Country House, the recipient of a wealth of Awards including the National England for Excellence Award for Excellence and for Outstanding Customer Service (The Tourism Industry Oscars for Best in England). Why not make Tor Cottage your base for a wonderful West Country holiday. You will be able to visit both Cornwall and Devon Coastlines, walk the Moors, and see pretty villages, National Trust properties, beautiful gardens – all of which surround us. Cycle, fish, horse ride, surf or sail, or stay home and relax in our beautiful gardens and swim in our heated outdoor pool – rated one of the top 50 pools in Britain.

Tor Cottage offers a relaxed atmosphere alongside friendly hospitality. Our 5-star ensuite bedsitting rooms are in their own garden settings, each with its own log-fire and hospitality area with fridge. The accommodation is spacious and unusual. Craftsman’s Garden, situated by the stream has a beautiful traditional theme with doors to a private terrace and garden. Craftsman’s Deco, is reminiscent of the stylish 1920’s and has its own private conservatory by the stream, just the place to sip your Martinis!
The Garden Room, converted from an ancient carthouse, is spacious and elegant and has views of the stream and valley with French doors leading to a private terrace and garden. The Cottage Wing is a suite in the main house with a bedroom, private sitting room and bathroom. A true woodland retreat, Laughing Waters is situated in its own private woodland garden with steps down to the stream. Native American in style, it has a verandah complete with rocking chair and a separate covered Ranch House with private BBQ and patio heater.

Superb Breakfasts. Supper Trays to advance order. Michelin Restaurants, charming pubs nearby.
